Different poses when photographing newborns with sibling

During a newborn session including sibling and family photos is often my favourite part of the session. I love that you can see how much in love with their new little brother or sister they are, sometimes a bit too excited and they can't hold back! There are a variation of poses that you can do when including siblings in the newborn photos. I do about 2 different sibling poses but if you can get just one pose creating a beautiful photo this is of course always enough.

Photographing siblings with newborn is not always easy, especially if they are an excited little toddler that just wants to run around and play. Adapting poses to the Childs age and how they interact with their new sibling may also need to be followed with some bribes or treats. Ha yep, some little sweets on hand a lot of the time helps these cute little rascals suddenly want to cooperate 😂 and lots of patience and trying to make them laugh.

How cute are these photos! This is my first go to pose and it's relatively easy and you can do it with children of all ages. I would get the siblings to lay down first and then place the newborn beside them/in between them if there are two siblings. This newborn and sibling pose never disappoints and creates the most beautiful photos!

The sibling holding the baby

If the sibling is old enough to hold the baby you can try this pose as well. Again this is a beautiful photo and you can vary the position and have them looking at the camera and also down at their little brother or sister showing them all the love int he world!

Posing newborns and siblings in a chair

Posing siblings sitting in a chair while holding the baby is another great pose, if they are old enough to do so. Lots of snuggles and cuddles and smiles, newborn photography with siblings is really special, moments and photos you will cherish forever and i really recommended them!
